Naming ceremony of Yinson Welding Training Center

On 27 September 2017, Yinson unveiled the new welding workshop in Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI), Ghana and christened the workshop with its new name – Yinson Welding Training Centre.

The event saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Energy; Hon. Joseph Cudjoe; Guest of Honor Nana Kobina Nketsia V, the Omanhene of the Essikado Traditional Area; Her Excellency Heather Cameron, Canadian High Commissioner; Yinson Production Country Director, Mr. Lars Eik and representatives from Eni Ghana, the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, Petroleum Commission and World Bank.

The welding training centre is one of Yinson’s CSR initiative whereby the workshop which was built by Yinson, houses welding and mechanical equipment provided by the Ministry of Energy with funding from the World Bank. A total sum of USD 3.2 million has been spent till date to procure modern training equipment such as welding and fabrication equipment, electrical, electronics, hydraulics and overhead crane laboratory equipment and a fluids laboratory.

This welding training centre will provide new technical knowledge to its students, and its special courses will enable more students to get better qualifications to enter the O&G industry and to other industry sectors. It is Yinson’s hope that this initiative will make a positive difference in the lives of those who seek to pursue such knowledge and prepare generations to come for the industrial world.
