Yinson is pleased to support the Teach For Malaysia Foundation as a Corporate Partner.
Teach For Malaysia (“TFM”) is a leadership development program that mobilises a movement of leaders to empower the nation through education. The non-profit organisation recruits the country’s rising generation of leaders to be part of the solution to solve social challenges facing the community today. The recruited young leaders will teach as Fellows in high-need schools across Malaysia, working hand-in-hand with the local communities to impact lives in the classroom and beyond.
As a Corporate Partner, Yinson contributed RM50,000 to support a chosen Fellow, Divyang Hong, a 23-year-old Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate hailing from Sungai Petani, Malaysia.
He has been teaching in a high-need school in the heart of Kuala Lumpur since 11 February 2019. He chose to become a TFM Fellow because, as he says, “All it takes is one teacher to have faith in a student for the student to have a completely new outlook on life."
According to Divyang, “So many talented world beaters are not in the ‘right’ school or the ‘right’ area and will never be given the platform to express themselves. I hope to change that by always keeping my ears open for students speaking up. I hope to place these students in positions where they can change their schools, their communities and, ultimately, the nation.”
