Senior Executive / Assistant Manager, Investment & Strategic Finance

Location: Yinson Holdings Berhad, KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with corporate exercises such as rights issuance, private placement, bond issuance, debt financing, mergers, acquisitions and disposals, initial public offerings various capital and leveraging management, as well as strategic review work for the company.
  • Liaise with corporate advisors from investment banks, solicitors, placement agents, equity capital advisory, brokerage advisory and various regulatory bodies.
  • Liaise with internal departments on various matters such as tax, finance, accounting and operations.
  • Review, prepare and analyse various reports and submission documents such as prospectus and relevant term sheets and loan documents.
  • Perform various analyses such as industry, competitor, market and client researches.
  • Assist in the investment assessment process through preparation and review of robust financial models, board papers and analysis of investment details.
  • Assist in the appointment of advisors by making relevant comparison and recommendation.
  • Assist in various forms of corporate structure proposal, debt and capital restructuring plans. The specific tasks would include conducting/facilitating the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, assist in reviewing term sheets, conducting due diligence on companies or contracts.
  • Assist in the appointment of advisors by making the relevant comparisons and recommendations.
  • Assist in the due diligence process related to acquisitions and divestitures which involve both internal and external parties.
  • Drafting of various letters to external parties.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc assignments.


Specific Qualifications Required

  • Possess a recognised Degree/Advanced Diploma in Accounting or Finance/part professional accounting qualification ACCA/CIMA/CPA equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in Investment Banking/Big 4/Boutique M&A Advisory firms/Private Equity firms.
  • Knowledge of and experience in accounting, tax and legal related matters will be an added advantage.


Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Proven analytical and systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modelling and valuations).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good understanding of accounting knowledge and Companies Act.
  • Good writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to converse in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to work independently and a strong team player.
  • Takes initiative to raise issues or improvements within his/her area of responsibilities.
