Who are we?

What is the role?

The Solutions Architect will be a part of Yinson Green Technologies’ Digital Products team developing new digital products to support our new business ventures in the Electromobility, Energy and Marine sectors. It will entail working closely with Technical Architects, Software Engineers, Software Test Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Product Managers, Sales and Business Development teams to develop and deliver these ambitious digital products. The Solutions Architect will provide overall technical leadership and direction to the product development teams and will be involved in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, with a broad understanding of the overall product architecture.

We are looking for someone who possesses an astute business awareness to understand the value proposition of our digital ecosystems. The person must have significant experience working on large and complex products, has a passion for technology and enjoys working in a fast changing and challenging environment to build a net zero carbon future.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide overall technical leadership to the digital product development teams
• Responsible for the end-to-end solution architecture and design, including the technical infrastructure requirements and integration with 3^rd party solutions that support the business goals
• Liaise with Product Managers, Sales and Business Development teams to understand the business requirements and use cases, and develop the appropriate solutions that enable the commercial use cases
• Investigate and evaluate appropriate software technologies that meet the business objectives
• Be hands-on and must be willing to look at code when required
• To create the value proposition for the proposed solutions so that the Sales and Business Development teams are able to articulate a consistent story to the customers
• To provide high level estimates and cost models to support the proposed solutions
• Provide industry thought leadership and best practices to the business and technical teams to support the development of the solution architecture and design
• Ensure compliance to regulation and industry standards with regards to legal, fiscal, security and data privacy requirements such as GDPR and PCI-DSS

Who should apply?

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering/IT/Computer Science is required
• TOGAF certification is desirable
• At least 10 years of hands-on development experience in the IT/Software industry, including 5 years as an Architect
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman
• A solid understanding of the various design patterns and methodologies, particularly micro-services based architectures
• A strong programming experience in Java, JavaScript, Python
• Experience in Relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and no-SQL databases such as MongoDB, CassandraDB and MariaDB
• Experience in cloud services platforms, particularly AWS
• Experience in traditional Waterfall and Agile methodologies
