PT Ineco Solar Solutions (“Inecosolar”), a subsidiary of Yinson Renewables, and PT Finusolprima Farma Internasional (“Finusolprima”), a key entity within leading Indonesian pharmaceutical company PT Kalbe Farma Tbk, have entered into a strategic collaboration to install 264 kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (“PV”) solution at Finusolprima’s factory in Bekasi.
The partnership is a testament to Inecosolar’s position as a leading Energy as a Service (“EaaS”) provider and Finusolprima’s commitment to environmental stewardship in the pharmaceutical industry.
Upon completion, the system is anticipated to avoid approximately 250 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, meeting around 5% of the factory’s electricity needs. This project will contribute positively to Finusolprima’s environmental footprint, reinforcing its position as an industry leader committed to sustainable and responsible business practices.
Inecosolar Managing Director Mr Benoît Prim said, “At Inecosolar, we are passionate about helping businesses and communities in Indonesia to lower their carbon footprint and operate more efficiently and sustainably, in support of the Indonesian Government’s new renewable energy (EBT) mix target of 23% by 2025. This collaboration is another significant milestone for us, as we provide energy as a service to one of the leading pharmaceutical groups in the region. Our innovative business model offers Finusolprima a comprehensive package covering financing, construction, operation, and maintenance without any upfront cost.”
Finusolprima’s Bekasi facility is the second factory rooftop solar PV project that Inecosolar is delivering, with the first project signed in September 2023 with Lazada Indonesia to design, construct, install, operate and maintain a 396 kWp solar panel project at its facility in Cimanggis, West Java. The project is in its final stage of preparation and when completed, it is expected to generate more than 555 MWh per year, with an estimated 400 tonnes of carbon emissions avoided.
