Oslo Yinsonites run for hope in bright pink bandanas for the Rosa Sløyfe-løpet 2019 run as a show of support for the Pink Ribbon cause.
Rosa Sløyfe-løpet 2019 is the Norwegian chapter of the Pink Ribbon Run and is held annually as a community sporting event during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) in October across 10 main cities and townships in Norway.
The event is organised by Kreftforeningen, the Norwegian Cancer Society, a registered health organisation working tirelessly to fight cancer and improve society’s attitude to the prevention and treatment of the disease through thorough research and preventive measures, information dissemination and lobbying.
Rosa Sløyfe-løpet 2019 comes in two routes, a longer 5km one and a shorter 3km one. Yinson’s participation saw 8 Yinsonites and their family members banding together to run the 5km route for a good cause. Their participation was fully sponsored by the group’s Oslo office, Yinson Production ASA.
According to the Head of HR and Crewing – Operations at Yinson Production, Håvard Johansen said, “Participating in the Rosa Sløyfe-løpet 2019 is a great way to raise awareness on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, as well as to demonstrate solidarity with individuals afflicted with breast cancer and their families. Plus, everyone gets a nice work out in the fresh air.”
When asked about why they chose to join the run, Ina-Christine Naustvik, Purchasing Manager – Operations of Yinson Production then said, “We are humbled for the chance to run for a good cause. The Rosa Sløyfe-løpet 2019 is suitable for all levels of physical capabilities, including those currently undergoing cancer treatment or those recovering from cancer and their next of kin. Not to mention, it was a fun way to bond with my fellow participating colleagues.”
While Jan-Viggo Johansen, Operation Manager of Yinson Production cheekily quipped that the run also offers a fun opportunity to outrun the boss.
