Yinson is pleased to provide an update on changes to its Key Management team, in line with its plans for growth and diversification as follows:

  • Promotion of Mr Eirik Arne Wold Barclay to the corporate role of Group Executive Vice President (EVP) of New Ventures and Technology. Eirik previously held the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Offshore Production.
  • Promotion of Mr Flemming Grønnegaard to the role of CEO Offshore Production. Flemming previously held the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) Offshore Production.
  • Appointment of Mr Rolf Marthin Normann to the role of COO Offshore Production.

These changes took effect on 1 May 2020.

Eirik and Flemming have been instrumental in driving Yinson’s success in the FPSO industry. With Eirik and Flemming at the helm of Yinson’s Offshore Production and Operations teams respectively, Yinson has grown its fleet size, proven its capability of delivering projects on time while demonstrating industry-leading uptime and safety performance. Flemming’s transition into managing Yinson’s Offshore Production Division is part of Yinson’s succession plan, with handover taking place in stages since April 2020. Flemming will continue to drive Yinson’s short, medium and long-term goals for this division, including executing our existing projects, securing new projects and monetising long-term FPSO projects.

New Ventures and Technology is a new portfolio at Yinson, the establishment of which reflects the Group’s increasing focus on diversification and digitalisation as a strategy to remain competitive in the energy industry. Since his appointment as CEO, Offshore Production in 2014, Eirik has been passionate about driving technology-based enhancement across the Group, propelling Yinson’s digital technology adoption over the years. In his new role, Eirik will spearhead digitalisation across the organisation and new opportunities within the energy space.

The Group also welcomes Rolf Normann, who brings with him vast experience from offshore energy projects including FPSOs, offshore drilling and offshore wind. Rolf will be based in our Operations Headquarters in Oslo, overseeing the operations of all our active FPSO assets in Ghana, Nigeria and Malaysia. Under his leadership, Yinson is well-placed to maintain the strong performance of its increasing fleet list and geographical presence.

“We heartily congratulate Eirik, Flemming and Rolf on their new appointments. We believe that these changes have strengthened the Key Management team at Yinson, enabling us to better deliver on our commitments to all our stakeholders and position Yinson for greater growth,” said Yinson Group CEO Mr CY Lim.

“The challenges the industry faces this year are not small. However, with a solid leadership team aligned by a common Vision, Mission and Core Values; and whose relationships are built on trust – we believe Yinson will be resilient to emerge stronger.”
