Yinson is pleased to announce that applications for its Yinson4Youth (Y4Y) Grant are now open. As part of its 30by30 goals, Yinson is committed to empowering communities by supporting organisations that drive sustainable change. This annual grant aims to support registered youth-led organisations working to create positive social and environmental impacts in Malaysia.
About the grant
The Y4Y Grant was established in 2023 to fund innovative projects led by youths aged 18 to 30 that directly address social and environmental issues in Malaysia. Yinson strongly believes in the power of young changemakers in Malaysia who are eager to leave a lasting, positive impact in the world. Organisations may apply for funding of up to RM50,000, depending on the scope and scale of the proposed project. Successful recipients will also receive tailored mentorship to help develop their initiatives.
Eligible projects must focus on one or more of the following United Nations Sustainable Developmental Goals (UN SDGs):
- SDG 3: Good health and well-being
- SDG 4: Quality education
- SDG 5: Gender equality
- SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy
- SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
- SDG 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure
- SDG 13: Climate action
- SDG 14: Life below water
- SDG 15: Life on land
Who can apply?
In its second year, the Y4Y Grant is open to youth-led non-profit organisations, non-profit organisations, social enterprises, and societies from public and private tertiary education institutions registered in Malaysia. The majority of the project team must be aged between 18 to 30. Applicants must also demonstrate how their proposed project will create measurable, long-term, sustainable societal and environmental impacts.
Application timeline
- Application period: 4th November 2024 – 6th December 2024
- Review process: 9th December 2024 – 13th December 2024
- Final pitch to Yinson’s selection committee: 3rd January 2025
- Announcement of grant recipients: 8th January 2025
- Grant Award Ceremony: 16th January 2025
- Project implementation period: February 2025 – August 2025 (flexible depending on scope and scale)
All applications must be submitted to sustainability@yinson.com by 6th December 2024 at 12.00 PM (local time). Late submissions will not be considered.

Key considerations
Applicants are encouraged to submit clear, well-documented proposals that outline the project’s goals, anticipated impacts and budget. Proposals will be evaluated based on the project’s potential to create long-term benefits for the local community, budget feasibility, and alignment with Yinson’s sustainability agenda.
