Yinson Group Chief Executive Office Mr CY Lim has been announced as a top nominee for this year’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) Malaysia Awards, under the Master Entrepreneur category.

Mr Lim is one of 15 top Malaysian entrepreneurs who were nominated under the four categories – Master, Women, Emerging and Technology. The nomination was announced at a cocktail function at Hilton Kuala Lumpur graced by Y Bhg Datuk Seri Redzuan Yusof, Minister of Entrepreneur Development. 

“When Yinson first entered the FPSO business, we were the ‘new kid on the block’ and had to prove our abilities against the other bigger players in the market at the time. Every project Yinson undertook was larger than the project before, and presented many new challenges. It wasn’t easy to overcome the obstacles that arose, but as a team we had to be bold and decisive to work out innovative ways to deliver our projects on time and budget,” said Mr Lim, speaking of his entrepreneurship journey at Yinson. 

The award celebrates those who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses, recognising them through regional, national and global awards programs in more than 145 cities and 60 countries. The EY EOY Awards is the world’s most prestigious business awards program for entrepreneurs and is the first and only truly global awards program of its kind. The nominees are selected by an independent panel of judges guided by a set of globally benchmarked criteria. Winners of the four category awards as well as the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 Malaysia award will be announced and celebrated at a gala event in December 2018. The Malaysian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 will then join country award recipients from around the globe in Monte Carlo in June 2019 to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) 2019 award.
