In 2021, the National Cancer Centre Singapore (“NCCS”) officially launched the NCSS’s Make More Survivors campaign with a goal to raise SGD150 million by 2024. As part of the campaign, the NCSS was looking for funds to support the Lung Cancer Training Fund. The NCCS approached Yinson Singapore, and we agreed to pledge USD1.1 million (SGD1.5 million) over the next 10 years where the funds were channeled to fund cancer patient support programmes and enables cancer research and education to continue.

“We are amazed by the exemplary work the National Cancer Centre Singapore has done in facilitating the cross-border sharing of knowledge and research, to raise the bar and standards of cancer care of patients in Southeast Asia. The exemplary work by NCSS clearly aligns with one of our CSR mission which is to promote quality education and effective learning. This is one of the many ways Yinson contributes to the local community aside of providing affordable energy.” said JJ Chai, Director of Chief Executive Officer Office, Yinson Holdings Berhad.

The pledge by Yinson will achieve three main desired outcomes which are supporting regional cross-training opportunities, building capacity in clinical training and education, and advancing translational research with a focus in Asian ethnicity.
