Yinson has provided USD15,000 worth of welding consumables annually to facilitate the learning experience of students enrolled in Yinson Welding Training Centre in Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI).

This decision was reached upon observing the high enrolment of students at the training centre from the institute. More welding consumables would be needed to better meet the usage needs of the students during their practical lessons in the training centre.

The first donation was made in January this year, following which, the welding consumables would be presented to Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI) in 2 equal instalments each year for 3 years. The second instalment was contributed in November.

Yinson Welding Training Centre was launched and named on 27 September 2017 as a CSR initiative from Yinson. Its construction was funded by Yinson and furnished with welding and mechanical equipment provided by the Ghana Ministry of Energy in partnership with the World Bank.

The core purpose of setting up the training centre is to impart new technical knowledge and skills to students who will then be equipped with better employment qualifications for all industries, not just the O&G industry. Yinson has placed hopes that this initiative will bring about a change for the better in the lives of the students enrolled and to prepare them for the future of work in the industrial world.
