In recognition of World Malaria Day, Yinson Production Ghana partnered with the West African Rescue Association (WARA)/International SOS Ghana and the Ghana Health Service Ahanta West to raise awareness and promote malaria prevention in Agona Nkwanta, Western Ghana.
The two-day programme, held under the theme “Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite,” featured an awareness march, interactive education sessions, and creative activities involving school children, teachers and community members. Participants received informative materials on malaria prevention, and health personnel engaged residents with practical advice on early diagnosis, treatment, and the correct use of insecticide-treated nets.
As part of the initiative, Yinson Ghana and WARA/International SOS Ghana donated essential medical equipment and supplies to the Agona Nkwanta Polyclinic. These included diagnostic tools, antimalarial medications, treated mosquito nets and other healthcare necessities to support local treatment efforts.
Edward Mensah, Local Content and CSR Manager at Yinson Ghana, said, “Our commitment is part of everything we do, whether it’s empowering communities, championing education, protecting the environment or fighting malaria. We strive to make a lasting impact.”
The event also featured contributions from health officials, including Dr. Joseph Gbene and Dr. Grace Oppong, who emphasised the importance of maintaining clean environments, early detection and consistent community engagement.
With strong collaboration and active participation, the programme reflected a shared commitment to reducing the burden of malaria and improving public health outcomes in the region.
