Yinson recently organised an employee fundraising event in our Kuala Lumpur and Singapore offices. The event successfully raised RM66,000 to support The Lost Food Project (“TLFP”), a Malaysian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue and redistribution of quality surplus food to those that need it the most, diverting it from landfills.
Approximately 30% of food produced for human consumption around the world is either lost or wasted annually, equivalent to approximately 1.3 billion tonnes. In Malaysia, 3,000 tonnes of edible food is thrown away each day, which would be enough to feed 10 million people every day.
For the second consecutive year, Yinson is honoured for the opportunity to support The Lost Food Project’s mission of providing greater food security and environmental sustainability.
