Yinson Holdings Berhad has received the ‘Industry Excellence Award’ under the energy sector at the MSWG-ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards 2020, in recognition of the Group’s exemplary corporate governance disclosure and practices amongst Malaysian public listed companies.

In addition to the Industry Excellence Award, Yinson also ranked 26th in the List of Top 100 companies for corporate governance disclosures.

Judging criteria is based on the score from the ASEAN scorecard which was developed according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Principles of Corporate Governance. The winners list is finalised by the adjudication panel comprising of representatives from professional bodies, corporate governance experts, academicians, investment professionals and those familiar with the Malaysia equity market.  

Commenting on the awards, Yinson Group Chief Strategy Officer, Daniel Bong said, “We have devoted significant efforts to improve our corporate governance standards, for example, through enhanced disclosures in our Annual Report, supporting the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures and strengthening the frequency and quality of our stakeholder engagement initiatives. We are humbled to have our efforts recognised by MSWG and the judging panel of these awards. We will continue to adopt the best practices and set a higher benchmark to good governance and disclosure.”

Last year, Yinson received the ‘ASEAN Asset Class Award’ at the 2019 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard Awards which assessed companies at the ASEAN level.
