Yinson Holdings Berhad (“Yinson”) has recently been honoured with the Priority Integration Sectors Award in the energy/renewable energy category at the ASEAN Business Awards (“ABA”) 2024, hosted by Laos in conjunction with its ASEAN chairmanship year.

This year’s ABA seeks to recognise enterprises and individuals in ASEAN that drive economic growth by enhancing connectivity and resilience, and prioritising sustainability. The awards spotlight the importance of collaboration and community empowerment in creating a more inclusive ASEAN, while emphasising the key role partnerships play in fostering peace and prosperity across the region.

Yinson Group Chief of Staff, Liaw Thong Jung, who accepted the award during a gala dinner in Laos on 9 October 2024, commented, “We are truly honoured to receive this recognition from the ABA for the very first time. At Yinson, we believe that collaboration across ASEAN nations is crucial, particularly in the energy sector, which plays a vital role in driving the region’s economic growth. As we collectively navigate the energy transition journey, our focus remains on building strategic partnerships that multiply the impact of our projects. Together with our stakeholders, we are committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions that not only benefit individual countries but also contribute to a resilient and prosperous ASEAN community.”

As a global energy infrastructure and technology company, Yinson plays an active role in the ASEAN energy landscape through its offshore production, renewables, and green technologies businesses. Notably, in the green technologies sector, the Company is building a regional network of electric vehicle infrastructure to support green mobility through chargEV. Yinson also serves as a council member of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (“ASEAN-BAC”) Malaysia, where the Company has taken the lead in driving the development of a robust carbon market in the region.

The ABA, established by ASEAN-BAC in 2007 to commemorate ASEAN’s 40th anniversary, has since recognised over 250 exceptional businesses across ASEAN. These awards highlight companies that have made significant strides in their respective sectors, contributing to the region’s economic growth and prosperity.

Alongside energy/renewable energy, the Priority Integration Sectors Awards also celebrated achievements in nine other categories, including agriculture/agri-food based, food and beverages, handicraft and textiles, digital transformation, infrastructure, tourism, transport and logistics, healthcare, and education.
