Yinson has responded to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society’s (“MRCS”) #responsMALAYSIA call for contribution of medical supplies by donating 10,000 units of personal protective equipment (PPE) and 34,000 pieces of face masks.
Totalling up to RM700,000 in value, the donated items were handed over by Yinson Group Chief Executive Officer Lim Chern Yuan to MRCS in a ceremony presided by the Minister of Finance YB Senator Tengku Dato’ Sri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz in Putrajaya last Saturday.
This donation is one of several ways Yinson has been actively supporting the fight against Covid-19. Yinson is also providing healthy meals and personal hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste to Sungai Buloh Hospital, and face masks to Tung Shin Hospital.
Commenting on the situation, Yinson Group Chief Executive Officer Lim Chern Yuan said, “The rising number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country has led to a severe shortages of protective medical supplies for those who need them the most – our healthcare workers, the true frontliners in this ongoing battle against the pandemic. We are honoured to work with MRCS to source and procure medical supplies that will keep our frontliners safe so that they can keep up the heroic efforts of battling this pandemic. Through the #responsMALAYSIA initiative, MRCS and the Ministry of Finance have successfully mobilised a wide network of caring Malaysian corporates and individuals to RESPOND to the call to action.
