As Malaysia concludes its ASEAN-BAC 2025 chairmanship, Yinson proudly reflects on a year of meaningful leadership and regional impact. Through our role as a Council Member of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia, we contributed to advancing ASEAN’s vision of “Unifying Markets for Shared Prosperity” at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2025. The summit brought together heads of state, policymakers, and business leaders for high-level dialogue on regional integration, innovation-driven policy reform, and ASEAN’s global economic leadership.

In his opening keynote during ABIS 2025, Lim Chern Yuan, Council Member of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia and Yinson Group CEO, delivered an inspiring message of unity and optimism, reflecting the summit’s diverse conversation, “ABIS is about connecting people and ideas, and we saw that in action. From geoeconomics and financial inclusion to philanthropy, education advocacy, and the creative economy. These conversations reflected ASEAN’s commitment to shared prosperity. The energy and collaboration at ABIS gave me great optimism for what lies ahead – a future of shared prosperity across ASEAN.” The summit’s closing featured the official handover ceremony to the Philippines marked a symbolic transition and ongoing cooperation among ASEAN nations.

Yinson’s endeavours were further recognised at the prestigious ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) 2025, where we were honoured in the Logistics category. This accolade attests to our commitment towards building a more connected and resilient region through sustainable innovation and infrastructure solutions. Through our green technologies business, Yinson GreenTech, we will strive in our pivotal role to electrifying the transportation and logistics sectors across land and sea, helping businesses decarbonise their fleets and optimise operations through digitalisation.

As Malaysia concludes its 2025 ASEAN-BAC chairmanship, Yinson proudly reflects on its contributions as a Council Member, represented by Lim Chern Yuan since 2023. Through leadership in the Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA) and as Co-Chair Malaysia of the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets (AACM), Yinson played a pivotal role in shaping the ASEAN Common Carbon Framework (ACCF), reinforcing the region’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and collaborative climate action. Recognised as a leader in the sustainability space within the region, Yinson continues to set industry standards and champion environmental transformation for ASEAN.

During its 2025 chairmanship, ASEAN-BAC Malaysia propelled ASEAN’s vision of integration and shared prosperity through 15 policy initiatives and over 60 programs. Key milestones included the ASEAN Business Entity to boost intra-regional investments, the ACCF to harmonize carbon markets, and the ASEAN Sustainability Reporting Advocacy Collaborative to streamline ESG practices. It also championed digital transformation via the ASEAN AI Strategy, enhanced talent mobility, and improved private capital flows, culminating in the ABIS 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, which convened global leaders to shape ASEAN’s economic future.

Looking ahead, Yinson warmly congratulates and extends its best wishes to the Philippines as it assumes the ASEAN-BAC chairmanship. We are confident that the next chapter will build on the momentum of 2025, deepening economic integration and fostering impactful partnership for shared prosperity. Yinson remains steadfast in our support of ASEAN’s vision, and we look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders to advance sustainable growth and unity across the region.
