Yinson is honoured to participate in Nor-shipping 2022 held from 4 to 7 April at Nova Spektrum, Norway. With the event themed, “ACTION”, many eyes are on Yinson to see our solutions that unlocks real value, real results, and making real progress to a sustainable world.
During the four-day event, Yinson showcased a concept model of the Hydroglyder, a harbour craft equipped with advanced hydrofoil technology in collaboration with Lift Ocean AS, enabling the craft to fly above water, greatly reducing water resistance and thereby increasing energy efficiency.
The all-electric harbour craft also features a host of exciting, advanced features, such as swappable batteries, a technology in strategic partnership with Shift Clean Energy, a Canada-based energy storage solutions company working to lower or eliminate dependence on fossil fuels in marine and industrial applications.
Yinson Executive Vice President New Ventures and Technology, Eirik Barclay commented of our presence at the event, “Nor-shipping 2022 gathers some of the world’s finest industry players in sharing new ideas and innovations to overcome climate-related challenges we are currently dealing with.”
“We are here to also share some updates of our Hydroglyder, which has come a long way since we first introduced it last year. Our plan to build the vessel in July is on track with a full test slated for Q1 2023. In the meantime, we are actively looking out for potential synergies and partnerships in driving decarbonisation efforts within the region’s maritime segment,” Eirik added.
Nor-shipping a biennial conference where the maritime and ocean industries meet. It is a place where the maritime, technology, finance and wider business segments cross paths to learn from one another, forge partnerships, and access new economic value creation.
