Yinson once more joined forces with Free Tree Society for a meaningful tree planting initiative at the Bangsar Pulai Trail Urban Forest, reaffirming our commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. Held over two separate days, a total of 33 volunteers participated in the event, which featured two simultaneous activities designed to promote ecological awareness and hands-on conservation:
- Nursery Potting & Educational Workshops: Volunteers engaged in potting activities at the Bangsar Nursery, planting edible plants that will be available for future adoption. The session was enriched with a sustainability talk, a guided tour of the nursery that included an introduction to herbs and garden plants, and informative discussions on environmental solutions and biodiversity. Participants also learned about Free Tree Society’s mission and its role in urban greening.
- Trail Conservation & Tree Planting: Another group ventured into the 1.2km Pulai Trail, where they planted native species, maintained the trail, and contributed to the ongoing rehabilitation of this secondary forest. A guided walk provided deeper insights into the trail’s ecological significance and its role in urban biodiversity.
This initiative is part of Yinson’s broader efforts to offset the environmental impact of our Integrated Annual Report 2025, while fostering a culture of sustainability and volunteerism among our employees. We are proud to continue this tradition and deepen our partnership with Free Tree Society, contributing both time and resources to support community-led conservation and preserve this important ecosystem for future generations.
The Pulai Trail is part of the Urban Community Forest initiative by the Malaysian Nature Society, launched in 2016 to protect one of the last remaining public green spaces in Bukit Persekutuan (Federal Hill). As a key steward of this area, Free Tree Society leads conservation efforts to rehabilitate the trail, which was once a rubber plantation and now serves as a vital green lung in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
