Yinson has won the Asset Triple A Awards 2020 for Best Syndicated Loan in Malaysia. The award recognises the USD400 million syndicated bridge loan facility with a consortium of seven local and foreign banks for FPSO Anna Nery – the Group’s maiden venture into the Brazilian floating, production storage and offloading market.
Yinson, together with its project partner Sumitomo Corporation, entered into the loan on 17 September 2020. The milestone was marked with a virtual ceremony, attended by representatives from Yinson, Sumitomo and the participating banks.
Commenting on the award, Yinson Group Chief Strategy Officer Daniel Bong said, “We are humbled to be recognised by The Asset through this award. It is a recognition of the high confidence financial institutions have in Yinson’s ability to continue maintaining our strong performance despite the unprecedented challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
He also expressed his heartfelt thanks for the support of Yinson’s partner, Sumitomo; client, Petrobras; and the seven participating banks, without which the bridge loan project and this subsequent award would not have been possible.
