Yinson won three awards at the Asia Integrated Reporting Awards (“AIRA”) 2022. The awards include two Silvers for Best Integrated Thinking and Best CEO Message respectively; and one Bronze for Best Value Creation.
The Best CEO Message award acknowledged Yinson’s top executive for demonstrating exceptional leadership in integrated thinking, strategy, performance, sustainable development and ESG in the message, while the Best Integrated Thinking Award recognised how well the Group showcased the delivery of its purpose to key stakeholders over time within the annual report. The Best Value Creation award affirmed the Group’s thorough overview of its financial and non-financial drivers.
Yinson is committed to enhancing the disclosure of its annual reports in line with global disclosure standards such as the International Integrated Reporting Framework and the Global Reporting Initiative.
Group Chief Strategy Officer of Yinson, Mr Chai Jia Jun commented, “Winning these awards gives us the assurance that the efforts we are putting into improving our disclosures are indeed adding value to our stakeholders. For example, in our 2022 Annual Report, we enhanced our value creation story by improving the linkage between our material matters against the capitals set by International Integrated Reporting Framework. We also dedicated a section to performance data, which details both financial and non-financial indicators.”
The virtual awards ceremony, which took place on 30 March 2023, began with an opening address by H.E. Ms Kara Owen, the British High Commissioner to Singapore. The awards were revealed by Tom Moody, Regional Director, South East Asia for Climate and Energy and Charis Yeap, Regional Lead for Green Finance at the British High Commission in Singapore, and Elaine Cohen, a well-respected sustainability reporting expert and a member of the judging panel.
“Yinson has showcased exemplary leadership in integrated reporting,” said Rajesh Chhabara, founder of AIRA and Managing Director of CSRWorks. He added that the company’s integrated report is a best practice example, highlighting its application of integrated thinking and a multi-capital approach to generate long-term value for its shareholders and stakeholders.
Entering its eighth year, AIRA is the most prestigious international recognition for integrated reporting. Integrated reports that demonstrate high-quality, value-creation reporting will be accorded the AIRA awards. The winning reports are selected based on a rigorous assessment process, where an independent judging panel determines the finalists and winners. The judging process not only evaluates the quality of the report but also conducts comprehensive due diligence that takes into account companies’ reputations among their stakeholders.
The awards ceremony was attended by senior business leaders and sustainability practitioners from 16 countries. For more information on the Asia Integrated Reporting Awards, please visit www.csrworks.com/aira.
