Overview

Yinson Production specialises in the provision of integrated services for Floating, Production, Storage, Offloading, (FPSO) and Floating, Storage, and Offloading, (FSO) units.

We design, construct, and operate industry-leading production assets for the offshore oil and gas industry towards improving global access to stable and affordable energy.

We are also leading the way towards Net Zero, Yinson's Climate Goal for 2050, with responsible solutions, working closely with likeminded partners in realising our Zero Emissions FPSO concept.

Oil and gas lifecycle

Yinson's services contribute to the 'development' and 'production' phases of the offshore oil and gas field lifecycle.
  • Seismic Survey

Geological and geophysical mapping via seismic survey

  • Exploration and Appraisal

Wildcat wells drilled to assess the potential discovery of oil and gas

  • Development

    Pre-FEED and FEED studies
    Fabrication and procurement

  • Production

Extraction, processing and export of hydrocarbons

  • Decommissioning

    Decommissioning of end-of-field infrastructure

In the ‘development’ phase, a series of plans are developed to outline how the field can be optimised, while in the ‘production’ phase, hydrocarbons are produced and processed. An FPSO vessel is designed to receive and process hydrocarbons, then store it until it can be offloaded. Essentially, Yinson provides working capital to oil producers and field operators – we are the de facto production arm of these companies.

What is an FPSO?

  • Used for the processing, storage and offloading of hydrocarbons.
  • Purpose-built to suit designated oil field requirements.
  • Can either be converted from an existing oil tanker or newly-built.
  • Popular for its mobility. An FPSO can be refurbished, relocated and reused for production in another field.

How does an FPSO work?

4 Boxes Content

  • Hydrocarbon Blanketing and Closed Flaring

Deploying these emissions-lowering technologies to eliminate routine flaring and venting

    Up to 10% GHG reduction

  • Combined Cycle Technology

Efficiently capture heat generated in the production process to be used to produce electricity for FPSO operations

    Up 25% GHG reduction

  • Renewable Energy

Partial / full electrification of FPSO operations by importing renewable energy sourced from onshore and / or nearby offshore infrastructure

Up to 100% GHG reduction of power production

  • Carbon Removal Process

Remove carbon via DAC and CCUS technologies

Up to 90% GHG reductions of power production

Strategy

  • Short to medium term (1 to 5 years)
    • Build sustainable project pipeline, including through mergers and acquisitions
    • Drive ESG initiatives towards reducing Group carbon intensity by 30% by 2030
    • Invest in asset lifecycle management via proactive digitalisation strategy
    • Enhance learning, leadership, safety and corporate culture
  • Long term (6 to 10 years)
    • Continuous development of asset portfolio to create strong order book and stable cashflows
    • Optimise capital structure, increase capital velocity, and expand capital pool to support growth and capture market opportunities
    • Continuously evaluate effectiveness of supply chain and project execution philosophy

Operational performance

The industry that never sleeps

FPSO units operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, withstanding harsh weather conditions and the ravages of the open sea. At Yinson, we are proud to have maintained a fleet uptime of above 99% since 2014.

Yinson holds certifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM and ISPS.
