Yinson GreenTech, via its EV leasing arm drivEV, is pleased to announce a strategic collaboration with Permodalan Darul Ta’zim (PDT) to accelerate Johor’s green mobility ambitions. PDT, a wholly-owned entity of the State Secretary of Johor, is dedicated to making strategic investments that align with the State Government’s sustainable development mandates, ensuring optimal returns and lasting impact for the state.
The Memorandum of Collaboration exchanged by both parties sets out a shared vision to explore and develop business opportunities within the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. This includes EV leasing solutions and the expansion of EV charging infrastructure across Johor. Both Yinson GreenTech and PDT are committed to ensuring commercial viability and long-term sustainability of these initiatives. The collaboration was formalised during the launch of Johor’s Green Development Policy 2030 (PPHJ2030), which aims to significantly strengthen the state’s sustainability efforts by 2030.
Present to witness the exchange ceremony, with 200 guests in attendance comprising entities from the public and private sectors, are Her Royal Highness Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah, Her Highness Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda and Dato' Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, Chief Minister of Johor.
Through its comprehensive suite of end-to-end EV solutions—including flexible leasing, advanced smart depot charging, and integrated digital technology – Yinson GreenTech is well positioned to support Johor’s aspirations for a greener future. Currently, Yinson GreenTech supplies PDT with three passenger EVs, with plans to expand the fleet further to help reduce the operational carbon footprint and drive meaningful environmental progress.
Kelvin Soon, Managing Director, drivEV said, “We are delighted to partner with PDT in their journey towards a more sustainable and efficient fleet. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to advancing green mobility and demonstrates the tangible impact of adopting electric vehicles in reducing emissions and operational costs. At Yinson GreenTech, we strive to empower our partners with innovative EV solutions and digital technologies that drive positive change. We look forward to supporting PDT as they transition their fleet to EVs, contributing to Johor’s vision for a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
During the event, Yinson GreenTech showcased its range of EVs and cutting-edge digital smart app, highlighting how technology can enhance operational efficiency for business fleets. As at FY2025, Yinson GreenTech has leased approximately 400 EVs to corporate clients in Malaysia and Singapore, collectively helping to avoid around 62.4 tonnes of carbon emissions.
